🌭 Dibbe Duo Culinary Adventure: Exploring Kalinski’s Wurstwirtschaft in Saarbrücken 🍽️
For the second year in a row, I’ve embarked on the Dibbe Duo culinary adventures with Urlaub Saarland – an exploration of flavors and traditions just across the border from Luxembourg. Our first destination: the charming city of Saarbrücken, where I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Kalinski’s Wurstwirtschaft.
Nestled in the heart of Saarbrücken, Kalinski’s Wurstwirtschaft is a proper haven for those in search for an excellent currywurst with homemade sauces and fries.
Our Dibbe Duo mission was clear: to curate a street food menu that celebrates the very essence of the Saarland region, by using regional ingredients. For this I had visited Metzgerei Petermann (to make sausages), Fruchteria (to pick up some homemade chutneys) and Saar-Lor-deLuxe (to get some regional mustard, spices and apple vinegar).
The moment I stepped into Kalinski’s Wurstwirtschaft with my Dibbe Duo box, I was greeted by the passionate team behind the scenes. Together with owner Elias, I sat down and crafted a streetfood menu. Elias suggested making a summery potato salad (that would go well with a currywurst) and I came up with making loaded fries – with a German-inspired egg sauce!
The result was well yummy – and you can currently sample the dishes for a short time at the moment at Kalinski’s Wurstwirtschaft in Saarbrücken.
