This is a great dessert for lazy summer days – really quick to rustle up, full of summery strawberry goodness and with a little boozy kick. Strawberrylicious!
This recipe is from my book ‘Barcelona, Istanbul, Berlin’.

This is a great dessert for lazy summer days – really quick to rustle up, full of summery strawberry goodness and with a little boozy kick. Strawberrylicious!
This recipe is from my book ‘Barcelona, Istanbul, Berlin’.
750g strawberries
25g sugar
75ml white wine
1 ½ tbsp fresh mint, finely chopped
200ml whipping cream
1 sachet vanilla sugar (2 tsp)
Serves 4 • Prep 15’ • Resting 15’ • Easy
Wash the strawberries, trim off the tops and cut into bite-sized chunks. Put the strawberries into a bowl and mix with the sugar, white wine and fresh mint.
Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes, so the strawberries can macerate.
Meanwhile, whip the cream with the vanilla sugar until stiff. Serve each portion of strawberries with a dollop of cream.
TIP: If you want to make an alcohol free version, you can use the juice of half a lemon instead of the white wine.
