Savoury Baklava

In Turkey, a whole range of savoury pastries are sold under the umbrella term börek. I suppose this dish is worthy of the börek label, but I thought ‘baklava’ would be more accurate, as the recipe combines the sweet dimension of dates, cinnamon and honey with the heartier flavours of tomatoes, onions, dill and walnuts. The flavour combination might strike you as unusual – and it is – but don’t let that deter you from giving this recipe a try!
