It is time to visit the second city of my Asian Adventures: Hong Kong! A vibrant city mixing modernity and tradition – and definitely a fantastic place to sample Chinese cuisine.
In this episode I am meeting up with my friend Charmaine Mok, who I’ve worked with at Time Out London, and who is now the Food & Drink Editor of Hong Kong Tatler Magazine. She takes me to a traditional Cha Chaan Ten, a Hong Kong diner, to sample classic HK breakfast and a super strange drink.
I’m also checking out Tong Chong market, where I find locally-grown Hong Kong produce and meet a beekeeper who has a farm in the New Territories.
My first day in Hong Kong ends with lunch at Maxim’s dim sum parlour – where I’m stuffing myself silly on all kinds of dumplings.
