Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau serves up a unique twist on the classic Portuguese codfish cake, or pastel de bacalhau. Here, the deep-fried pastries are not only packed with salted cod but also feature a gooey center of Serra da Estrela cheese – a controversial combination that leaves many Portuguese shaking their heads.
