Confeitaria Peixinho is one of the oldest and most famous pastry shops in Aveiro, Portugal, known for preserving the traditional art of making ovos moles. Founded in 1856, it has a long history of producing high-quality sweets and maintaining artisanal techniques passed down through generations.
Ovos moles (literally “soft eggs”) are a traditional Portuguese delicacy from Aveiro, made from egg yolks and sugar encased in a thin, wafer-like shell shaped like nautical motifs (shells, fish, barrels). They have a rich, creamy texture and are a symbol of the region’s confectionery heritage.
