I admit that this is a slightly unusual combination. While salt and chocolate make popular companions, olive oil is not the most obvious addition, but it really works. I first came across this dessert in a small neighbourhood tapas bar in London and it blew my mind! Beware though, not everyone might be as enthusiastic about it as I am. I’d suggest letting your fellow diners drizzle the olive oil over their pots themselves – that way they do it at their own risk!
This dish featured in one of my Barcelona travel episodes, you can watch me make it here.
This is a recipe from my second cookbook “Anne’s Kitchen – Barcelona, Istanbul, Berlin”.
Lately I’ve been using olive oil in some desserts with really nice results. This looks wonderful.
